ABBA - Happy New Year

한 해가 끝나가는 무렵입니다.

올해 저는 실직을 하였고, 실업급여라는 것을 받아보았으며, 이제 그것 마저도 끝이 났네요. 어떻게든 근근히 원고라도 받아서 살려고 고민하던 중에 아는 분이 괜찮은 조건을 제시해주셔서 당장은 아니더라도 조만간 터를 잡게 되었습니다. 다행인 일이지요, 요즘처럼 어려운 시절에...

또 아버지가 돌아가셨습니다. 폐암 선고를 받은지 1년이 조금 못 넘었는데, 너무 고통스럽게 돌아가셔서 마음이 불편하고 안타깝습니다. 아버지가 돌아가신 지 몇 달이 지났지만 아직 아버지와 관련된 일들이 마무리가 안 됐습니다. 사람의 몸이 죽는다고 세상 일이 다 끝나는 것은 아니더군요. 좀 번거롭고 신경쓰이는 일이 남았습니다. 이렇게 또 세상을 배워갑니다.

한 해를 보내는 일은 즐거운 일인지, 아쉬운 일인지 잘 모르겠습니다. 생각해보면 그저 어제와 같은 하루가 지날 뿐인데 말이죠. 이제 해가 바뀌는 것에 무뎌지기는 했습니다만, 그래도 때가 되니 생각나는 노래가 있습니다.

아바의 이 노래는 쓸쓸함이 묻어납니다. 가사 내용은 정확히 모르지만, 샴페인도 떨어지고... 그러는 걸로 봐선 아쉬워하는 분위기 같아요. 아마 저도 대충은 그런 마음 같습니다. 그다지 좋은 한 해는 아니었고 또 생부를 떠나보낸 해였으니까요. 혹시라도 저처럼 좋지 않은 한 해를 보내신 분은 너무 실망은 마시고 즐겁고 희망찬 새해를 맞이하시길 바라며, 아니면 좋은 한해를 보내신 분들은 신년에도 그 기운을 더욱 힘차게 이어나가길 바랍니다.
